Testimonials
“About 3 years ago our daughter Olivia was diagnosed with ASD. After some internet research, we came across equine therapy as something could possibly Olivia with her condition, so we decided to give it a try. She has been attending equine therapy with Joanna for the last one and a half years and we can see many improvements in her behaviour and health overall. We have noticed muscle tension improvement, for example she started running and jumping more than before and stopped grinding her teeth at night. Her communication with people and animals improved significantly, and she is not afraid of animals as she was before. Olivia started to express her feelings, started talking and to our joy has even started building simple sentences. We are very glad we decided to try equine therapy and found Joanna and definitely recommend it to other children and their parents with similar challenges.” Mariusz Gasecki (Dad)
"Joanna’s patience and professionalism was very effective in establishing a relationship with my daughter, Estera. As a Down Syndrome child, Estera had challenges to get onto the horse, and a natural fear in doing so.
Joanna established a bond with her and gave her confidence to do so. It was obvious Estera loved the animals and from the photograph you can see her joy. Sunny afternoons walking slowly along the country lanes became an activity Estera clearly enjoyed and is certainly beneficial for her development”. Ewa Lorenc (mother)
"Joanna is a fun, energetic person, whose friendly, engaging and caring personality shines through at all times.
My 30-year-old daughter Georgina has learning difficulties and autism, and suffers from episodes of extreme anxiety.
She has attended a couple of 1:1 equine/animal therapy sessions with Joanna. During these I have been struck how Joanna has assessed and seamlessly adjusted her style to cater for my daughter’s specific needs. Together with her wonderfully happy and relaxed style of introducing different experiences with various animals, Joanna has always ensured there are positive outcomes for my daughter. Upon asking my daughter about her last session, she said; ”Joanna is kind and helps me to be calm and to relax. I love the different animals, especially the horses. When can I go again?”. A true endorsement of Joanna!” Ian Harris
"We have been working with Joanna for about 6 months. Our son, H, was deeply traumatised by his experience at secondary school; which included bullying, and led to school refusal, high anxiety levels and suicidal ideation at age 11. With a diagnosis of autism, ADHD and dyspraxia, he has many barriers in accessing a neurotypical world.
Using her animals as a medium, Joanna's sensitive, non-threatening and nurturing approach is accessible to H, and is helping him to navigate social relationships, transition to a specialist school and develop an awareness of his own needs and how to manage them. H has been supported to develop a relationship with the animals and observe how they function with each other in a 'pack'. From his sceptical and reluctant initial thoughts, where he wasn't able to even touch a horse, he is now confident in grooming and handling them one to one; as well as the other animals in her care.
We have no hesitation in recommending her to other parents." (anonymous)
